CAMBRIDGE & SURROUNDS
PLENTY TO EXPLORE IN CAMBRIDGE AND ALL WITHIN A SHORT WALK
In the heart of the Waikato, and most commonly known for its equestrian, cycling and rowing venues and events, Cambridge easily holds its own in the areas of hospitality and retail as well.
The local eateries are not to be underestimated, from authentic Italian cuisine at Alpino to the classic decadence of Alpha Street Kitchen & Bar, not to mention the delectable tapas served at Pony.
We are proud to say that though small in size, Cambridge punches above its weight when it comes to dining out. High quality cafes and a weekly artisan farmers' market round out the
local foodie scene nicely.
Around nearly every corner of Cambridge town you will find small but beautifully stocked retailers. From eclectic vintage stores to custom design jewellers and fashion boutiques, there is no shortage of shopping opportunities if you are looking to add some unique pieces to your home or wardrobe.
If your preference is for a little activity, things like the ‘Have A Go’ session at the Avantidrome is a must try and make sure you have a bite to eat at The Bikery Café, hit the cycle trails or hire a kayak from The Boat Shed and have a paddle on Lake Karapiro. You could enjoy some beautiful country walks and easy, peaceful biking paths. For the less actively inclined, check out Tivoli Cinema, fully equipped with plush couches and wine, what could be better?
